- The Photoshop team posted the document Photoshop and High Sierra macOS 10.13 listing the issues they’re aware of. On September 28, 2020, Adobe posted the article Update on OS Support for next version of Photoshop, where they noted that: The next major version of Photoshop (22.x) will no longer support macOS High Sierra (10.13).
- This version of Photoshop runs on Mac, version 10.12 or later (Sierra). There is also a version for Windows. Is there a better alternative? In terms of an all-round image editing app or photo editor, no: Photoshop is the best. Users should bear in mind, however, that not everyone needs an all-around app or powerful photo editor.
I have an iMac running OSX 10.13.6. Despite being 10 yrs old the computer itself is working fine with the exception of Photoshop. A recent update has rendered the software useless as it crashes all the time. I have version 21 on my desktop and 22 on my laptop which works fine, however, laptop is. Has someone upgraded to macOS High Sierra and still using Adobe Photoshop CS5? My vintage machine (iMac late 2010) can still upgrade to macOS High Sierra.But with the APFS-file-system I wonder if Photoshop CS5 will still be working. I don't like the current subscription-model of Adobe's CC, I don't want to be 'locked in'. When you upgrade to the latest version of macOS 10.13.4 or launch a Creative Cloud application for the first time on the latest versions of macOS High Sierra, you may see a warning message that indicates Adobe software needs to be optimized for better performance. This is due to some 32-bit components that we are working to address in a future Creative Cloud update. Please note that no action is required from you at this time and your applications will still run as normal.

Adobe has tested the latest versions of Adobe Creative Cloud applications for reliability, performance, and user experience when installed on Intel-based systems running macOS High Sierra (version 10.13). The latest versions of all Creative Cloud products are compatible.
We are aware of some issues that users may experience after upgrading to macOS High Sierra (10.13). We are working hard to resolve these issues in a forthcoming release.
