The directions below only apply to RIT Faculty/Staff users. Students are not covered for personal devices

Step-by-step guide

  • The Adobe Creative Cloud software suite is available for DU faculty and benefitted staff. To get started: Windows: Double-click the CreativeCloudSet-up.exe file. Mac: Double-click CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg from the Downloads folder. Type in your DU email address (fisrtname.lastname@du.edu).
  • Skylaro19452271 in the screen shot you shared I see two Creative Cloud I dmg files and one Photoshop Install. Can you provide more details about what these mounted DMG files names are? Where did you obtain them?

(Check your Downloads folder.) (On macOS you may need to to open the disk image, or.dmg, file first to find the installer application icon.) Note: After clicking Continue, your browser window will bring your default browser to the foreground again and verify your Adobe Account from earlier steps.

Follow these steps to install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App on your personal computer

  1. First, download the application from the Adobe website. Here is a quick link: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html#ProblemsinstallingTryalternativedownloadlinks
  2. Click the alternate download for the platform you are on (Mac or Windows), install the application and then launch it
    1. Note: On the Mac, the file downloaded is a .dmg file. You will need to double click this and in the resulting window double click the 'Install' app
  3. On app launch you are presented with the Install Creative Cloud window, click the Sign In button
  4. Enter your RIT email address and then hit Continue
  5. The Shibboleth window for RIT is now presented. Enter your RIT Username and enter your current password
  6. Once authenticated, you can now click Start Installing which will install the CC Desktop App
  7. Adobe Desktop App viewer is now presented and you can choose which applications you want to install. Enjoy

Downloading the First Application on a Computer

  1. Sign into your Adobe Account using your ISU Email and Password.

  2. Click Open on the front page to view your Creative Cloud apps. (Figure1).

  1. You will have five of the most popular applications on the page available to download immediately. Click the desired application, then click Get Desktop App to download the application (Figure 2):

If you would like to browse the entire collection of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, click the All Your Apps button. From there, you can select a variety of Creative Cloud applications to download. (Figure 3)

  1. Once you have selected your application of choice, click Get Desktop App to begin downloading. (Figure 4).
    • On a Mac: The name of the downloaded file is AppName_Installer.dmg.
    • On a Windows PC: The name of the downloaded file is AppName_Set-Up.exe.
    • If you do not see the pop up in the bottom of the browser check your downloads folder.

  1. A pop up could happen asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?” Click Yes
  2. Once the installer window opens, you may get a prompt asking you to sign in to verify your install. Click Continue to have Adobe open a browser and authenticate your account by signing in. You should be redirected to a Central Login page where you will need to enter your ULID (ex: ulid@ilstu.edu) and password. (Figure 5).

  2. Answer the prompted questions the installer asks.
  3. Click Start Installing (Figure 5).

  1. Once the install is complete you should be able to use the application.

Downloading More Applications on a Computer

  1. Open the Creative Cloud Desktop App by Clicking the [Open] icon
    • On Windows PC in the Taskbar
    • On Mac in the Apple Menu bar
  2. You should see here the list of apps you have installed, and apps available to install
  3. Click Install next to the application you wish to install
  4. A pop up should happen asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?” Click Yes
  5. Once the install is complete you should be able to use the application.

Downloading Applications on your Mobile Device

  1. Download applications on your mobile device by searching for them in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and installing them from those locations.
  2. After the app is downloaded open it.
  3. Press Sign In
  4. Type your ULID@ilstu.edu email, you should be redirected to Central Login

  5. Login with your ULID and password
  6. You are now able to use the application
